Shanghai Zhongsu Pipe Co., Ltd. is a trusted PPR Ball Valves Manufacturers, producing PPR VALVES as part of a complete PP-R piping system produced at our Shanghai plant. The range covers double union ball valves, female and male single union ball valves, stop cocks and ball valves in 20mm, 25mm and 32mm sizes, all moulded from polypropylene random copolymer for hot and cold water supply, heating circuits and building services.
PPR Valves Manufacturer for Hot and Cold Water Systems
ZHSU has produced plastic pipe and fittings since 2004 in Jinshan District, Shanghai, on a 70,000 m² site with imported production lines and a CNAS-certified national laboratory. Our PP-R valves are the flow-control layer of the same system as our PPR PIPE and PPR FITTING ranges, so a project can be supplied from one source with matched dimensions, material grade and fusion behaviour.
Valves are used to isolate risers, sanitary groups, floor heating manifolds, equipment connections and branch lines. Because PP-R joints are made by heat fusion rather than threading, the valve body must accept the same socket fusion cycle as the pipe, and the union or threaded end must match the transition to metalwork. We mould our valve bodies from the same imported raw material used across the PP-R range, sourced from Borealis and South Korean suppliers.
Our PPR Valve Range and Where Each Type Fits
The five valve types below cover the isolation and shut-off duties normally specified in domestic, commercial and light industrial water systems. Selection is driven by pipe diameter, whether the joint is fused or threaded, and how often the valve will be operated.
| Valve type | Connection | Typical duty | Sizes |
|---|---|---|---|
| PPR Double Union Ball Valve | Fusion socket both ends, two unions | Riser and branch isolation where the valve can be removed for service | 20–32mm |
| PPR Female Single Union Ball Valve | Fusion socket one end, female thread the other | Transition from PP-R pipe to metal fixtures, pumps and tanks | 20–32mm |
| PPR Male Single Union Ball Valve | Fusion socket one end, male thread the other | Equipment connections where a male thread enters a female port | 20–32mm |
| PPR Stop Cock | Fusion socket, compact body | Sanitary and fixture isolation in tight wall or shaft spaces | 20–32mm |
| PPR Ball Valve | Fusion socket both ends | General on/off control in supply and return lines | 20–32mm |
Material and Construction
PP-R is chosen for water services because it resists scale, corrosion and electrochemical attack, and because it can be heat fused into a joint that is as strong as the pipe wall. Valve bodies follow the same logic: the housing is PP-R, the ball and stem are the moving parts that determine cycle life and sealing, and the union nut allows the body to be opened for maintenance without cutting the line.
- Body and union components moulded from polypropylene random copolymer, matched to the PP-R pipe grade.
- Fusion sockets dimensioned for standard PP-R socket fusion tooling in 20mm, 25mm and 32mm.
- Threaded ends for transition to metal pipework, pumps, tanks and fixtures.
- Union design that permits body removal and seal replacement in service.
- Suitable for hot and cold water service, including heating and domestic distribution.
Application Fit Across Building and Municipal Projects
Our valves are specified where a PP-R line needs a positive shut-off point that will not corrode or introduce a dissimilar metal into the water path. In building services they isolate risers, floor branches, sanitary groups and plant room connections. In heating and cooling circuits they serve manifold and terminal isolation. In municipal and rural water network renovation they provide branch control on PP-R distribution lines.
Because the same plant produces the pipe, fittings and valves, a project can standardise on one material system. Couplings, elbows and tees from our PPR COUPLING and PPR ELBOW ranges are produced to the same dimensional basis, which simplifies fusion settings and reduces the number of tools on site.
Sizes, Pressure Class and Operating Conditions
As a 20mm 25mm 32mm PPR Valve Factory, we set PP-R system pressure ratings as temperature-dependent: the nominal class applies at ambient water temperature and derates as the working temperature rises. Valve selection therefore follows the same pressure–temperature logic as the pipe, and the valve must not be treated as a higher-rated component than the line it serves.
| Selection input | What it determines |
|---|---|
| Nominal diameter (20, 25, 32mm) | Fusion socket size, flow area and pressure loss |
| Working temperature and pressure | Permissible class after temperature derating |
| Connection at each end | Fusion, male thread or female thread |
| Operating frequency | Whether an isolation valve or a frequently cycled control valve is appropriate |
| Access for maintenance | Union or fixed-body configuration |
Installation and Commissioning Notes
PP-R valves are installed with the same socket fusion process as the pipe. The heating time, insertion depth and cooling period are set by diameter and wall thickness, and the valve should be left in the open position during fusion so heat is not trapped against the ball and seat. Threaded ends require an appropriate sealing method for plastic-to-metal joints, with care not to over-torque the plastic body.
- Confirm fusion tooling matches the valve socket dimensions before starting.
- Support the valve body so pipe movement does not load the union or thread.
- Pressure-test the completed line before closing walls, shafts or trenches.
- Record test pressure, duration and ambient conditions for handover.
- Leave operating instructions and spare seals with the maintenance team.
Quality Control and Acceptance Evidence
Production runs under a documented quality system with ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 certification, and our CNAS-certified laboratory supports material and product testing. Incoming raw material is checked before extrusion and moulding, and finished goods are sampled batch by batch. A factory inspection report can be issued with the shipment as quality assurance documentation.
For project acceptance, the usual package is the inspection report, the relevant certificate set and the packing list. Where a project specification calls for additional documentation, we confirm what can be provided at quotation stage rather than assuming it after order placement.
Information We Use to Configure Your Solution
To prepare a valve configuration and quotation we work from the project data below. A complete order list with sizes, quantities, connection types and the required trade term is normally sufficient to quote; drawings or a bill of quantities help where the layout is already fixed.
- Valve type and quantity per size.
- Nominal diameter and connection combination at each end.
- Design working temperature and pressure of the system.
- Fluid and application, including whether the line is potable water, heating or drainage.
- Trade term (FOB, CIF, CNF or other) and destination port.
- Packing, marking and labelling requirements.
- Documentation needed for acceptance, such as inspection reports or certificates.
- Required delivery window and any phased call-off.
Packing, Delivery and Serviceability
Pipe fittings, including valves, are packed in transparent plastic bags in specified quantities and then placed in dedicated cartons; pipes are bundled and wrapped in woven bags. This protects threads and union faces through handling and container loading. Standard delivery is around 15 days, subject to the order list and current production schedule, and regular pipes and fittings are held in stock.
In service, the union design allows the valve body to be opened or replaced without disturbing the surrounding pipework, which keeps maintenance within a normal shutdown window. Spare seals and replacement valves can be supplied with the original order or as a separate call-off, and we can provide installation and operating guidance for the site team.
Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes of PPR valves does ZHSU manufacture?
Our PPR valve range covers 20mm, 25mm and 32mm nominal diameters across double union ball valves, female and male single union ball valves, stop cocks and ball valves. Other sizes and connection combinations can be discussed against a specific project list.
Which valve should be used for a riser and which for a fixture?
Risers and branch lines are normally isolated with a double union ball valve, because the union allows the body to be removed for service. Fixtures and tight wall or shaft locations are usually served by a stop cock, which has a more compact body. Where the line changes from PP-R to metal, a single union ball valve with a male or female threaded end makes the transition.
Can PPR valves be used in hot water and heating circuits?
Yes. PP-R is used for hot and cold water supply and for heating distribution, and the valve body is made from the same material family. The permissible pressure class depends on the working temperature, so the design temperature and pressure are confirmed at selection stage rather than assumed from the ambient rating.
How are the valves joined to the pipe?
Fusion sockets are joined by standard PP-R socket fusion using the same heating time and insertion depth as the pipe. Threaded ends connect to metalwork with a suitable sealing method. The valve is left open during fusion and the body is supported so that pipe movement does not load the union or thread.
What documentation is supplied with a valve order?
Shipments are accompanied by a packing list, and a factory inspection report can be provided as quality assurance evidence. Our quality management, environmental and occupational health and safety systems are certified to ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001, and testing is supported by our CNAS-certified laboratory. Additional documentation required by a project specification is confirmed at quotation stage.
What is the minimum order quantity and delivery time?
MOQ varies by product size, and regular pipes and fittings are held in sufficient stock that no MOQ applies to them. Typical delivery is around 15 days, with the exact schedule depending on the order list and the factory's current production plan. OEM and ODM requirements can be accommodated.
